All tuition credits under the Youth Community Action program have now expired. (The program ended April 1, 2002, but credits issued under the program remained valid for five years.)
Youth Community Action participants
What if I paid for my tuition before my tuition credits expired?
If you paid for your tuition before your tuition credits expired, you can submit an original reimbursement form [PDF 317kb]. Reimbursement forms will be honoured until the end of October 2007. After this date, no forms will be accepted.
Other documents required:
- An original official institution fee statement balance.
- A clear copy of your payment receipt showing the amount and date of transaction. (Receipts must show date paid before the expiry date of the tuition credits. This will be verified in our office.)
Fax copies are not accepted.

Information for post-secondary institutions
Now that the Youth Community Action program has been eliminated, what should we do with the tuition credits that students have submitted? Will the ministry still honour them? For how long?
The Youth Community Action program ended April 1, 2002, but all tuition credits issued to participants remained valid for five years from the date issued.
Institutions that have accepted valid tuition credit vouchers or reservation documents from students and processed them can still send in the completed information and invoices to our office. Please note that reservation documents cannot be extended past their expiry date.
The ministry will continue to honour tuition credits as long as they were redeemed before the reservation document’s expiry date. Institutions have until the end of October 2007 to submit the completed reservation document and an invoice. Any reservation documents or tuition credit vouchers received after this date cannot be honoured.
