Certificate 3
The Certificate 3 form is to be used by students who have a government grant overaward and who wish to ask that interest-free status for their grant overaward be continued while they are enrolled in full-time studies. This form is available through the financial aid office at your institution.
Certificate 3 must be completed by the student's educational institution, and the student must submit this form to StudentAid BC before the grant overaward becomes due and payable on the first day of the seventh month after they leave full-time studies.
Instructions to the student
- Take this form to your school for completion of the confirmation of enrolment section.
- Mail the original to StudentAid BC, make one copy for your records, and your school should keep one copy.
Faxed copies will not be accepted because original signatures are required.
- Certificate 3 must be received by StudentAid BC within 45 days of the date signed by the school and before the study period end date indicated by the school. Otherwise, the certificate will not be valid.
- If you withdraw before the study period end date on the Certificate 3 form, you must notify StudentAid BC of your early withdrawal.
- Within 15 days of any change in your name or address, you must notify your school and StudentAid BC.
Instructions to the school
- Enrolment can be confirmed only if the student is currently enrolled in at least 60 per cent (or 40 per cent if permanently disabled) of a full course load, for credit and leading towards a certificate, diploma or degree.
- Enrolment can not be confirmed after the current study period end date on the Certificate 3 form under any circumstances.
- If the student withdraws from a program of study, or drops below 60 per cent (or 40 per cent if permanently disabled) of a full course load, indicate the withdrawal date on the second copy (yellow copy) of the Certificate 3 form and return it to StudentAid BC.
