Essential Skills Conference
2007
Vision: British Columbia’s adults will attain and maintain the literacy skills necessary to participate fully in the modern society and global economy
About the conference
The Skills and Learning at Work for B.C. Conference brought together more than 200 people from a cross-section of government and stakeholder groups. This conference allowed key stakeholders to learn more about leading practices, and to discuss challenges and achievements in essential skills and workplace learning.
The Ministry of Advanced Education and Labour Market Development, as part of its mandate to promote adult literacy in B.C., looks for actions government, business, employers, labour, educators and communities, can take to support adult literacy and essential skill initiatives in the workplace. The ministry looks forward to providing further opportunities for engagement with partners as we work together to improve literacy skills and workplace learning.
