Success Stories
British Columbia Regional Science & Technology Network
The British Columbia Regional Science & Technology Network and its nine regional member councils serve as a resource and strategic partner for investing in community and technology development throughout British Columbia.
The councils work with the private sector, community agencies and post-secondary institutions. By providing services like business analysis, professional development, promotion, networking and sector awareness, they have helped B.C. technology companies succeed in marketing their innovative products and services both locally and worldwide.
Since the network was incorporated as a non-profit society in 2001, the councils have helped build the technology sector outside the Lower Mainland, working with over 30 per cent of technology companies in B.C.
The network augments the nine regional councils’ mandates through shared projects and activities, and it helps members build innovative regional technology and knowledge-based businesses.
Some of the leading-edge technologies supported and promoted by the nine councils include solar LED lights, mobile data collection software and progressive energy-efficient green building designs. The following stories illustrate just a few of the many examples of technology excellence in the regional areas of B.C. that have been facilitated by the British Columbia Regional Science & Technology Network and its member councils.
