Funding Parameters
In most cases, funding of up to 40 per cent will be provided to successful applicants on a matching basis. Institutions may average this 40 per cent share over all applications submitted at each competition for which a BCKDF deadline has been set; however, in no case will BCKDF funding exceed 60 per cent for any one project.
For projects costing $5 million or more, the estimated cost of a value analysis should be included in the provincial share of the total project cost, in accordance with provincial Treasury Board guidelines. Applicants for projects over $5 million should discuss the costing of value analysis with the department responsible for facilities or capital management within their institutions.
BCKDF funding is limited to the lesser of the approved share of the estimated cost set out in the application, or the actual cost. Applicants will be solely responsible for any cost overruns.
BCKDF award recipients are responsible for operational costs associated with BCKDF projects.
