Access & Excellence - The Campus 2020 Plan for British Columbia’s Post-Secondary Education System [PDF 3mb] - The Campus 2020: Thinking Ahead report was submitted by Geoff Plant, QC, special adviser to the Premier and Advanced Education Minister for Campus 2020: Thinking Ahead. The report makes 52 recommendations to government on how to build on the strengths of British Columbia’s existing system of higher education.

Canadian Council on Learning Question Scans and Literature Reviews - The council has developed question scans (similar to annotated bibliographies) and literature reviews on policy-related research questions defined by the ministry.

Capacity Reviews for Trades Training in B.C. August 2007 [PDF 2.41mb] - This report was commissioned in December 2006 to assess the capacity for trades training in the public post-secondary system.

Charting Our Path Aboriginal Report [PDF 241kb] - The Charting Our Path Aboriginal Report released October 29, 2008 outlines Aboriginal learner participation and achievement in B.C.'s public post-secondary institutions for the period 2003/04 to 2006/07.

Economic Impact of International Education at Public Post-Secondary Institutions [PDF 108kb] - A report on the economic impact of international education at public post-secondary institutions, prepared for the Ministry of Advanced Education and Labour Market Development by Roslyn Kunin & Associates, Inc.

Articulation Guide for English as a Second Language Programs in the British Columbia Post-Secondary Transfer System [PDF 279kb] - A descriptive framework of English as a Second Language for Adult courses and provides uniform and comprehensible terminology to describe these courses to professionals in the field.

2007 ESL Student Outcomes Survey Report [PDF 1060Kb] presents the responses of a group of learners who attended ESL classes at B.C. public post-secondary institutions between September 1, 2005 and August 31, 2006.

First Nations Coordinators Handbook [PDF 436kb]- The Handbook contains useful information for Aboriginal Coordinators on providing transitional, cultural and personal support to Aboriginal students.

Government Letters of Expectation - The Ministry writes to the public post-secondary institutions outlining the operating budget allocations, service delivery targets and priority issues. The letters are a component of Ministry planning, as identified in the Accountability Framework.

Post-secondary Central Data Warehouse Standard Reports [PDF 111kb] - These reports summarize student level data submitted by the 22 institutions in BC’s public college, university college, institute and agency sector. Data from the 5 public universities is not included in the Central Data Warehouse.

Private Career Training Institutions Act Review [PDF 334kb] - A review of the Private Career Training Institutions Act was undertaken in the summer and fall of 2007 in response to Geoff Plant's recommendation in Campus 2020: Thinking Ahead. This review is now complete, and the recommendations are available in this report.

Report on International Education Review (September 2005) [PDF 54kb] - This report is review of the revenues and costs of international education programs at public post‑secondary institutions. The purpose was to establish whether international students pay for the cost of their education. The results of the review established that there was likely no subsidization of international students by British Columbia taxpayers at the institutions examined.

Resource Directory of Programs and Services for Students with Disabilities in Public Post-secondary Institutions [PDF 334kb]- This document provides a listing of programs and services at post-secondary institutions for adult students with disabilities. The Directory is organized alphabetically by institution, with separate listings of services and programs.

Student Outcomes Surveys - The colleges and institutes, along with the Ministry of Advanced Education and Labour Market Development, recognize that student feedback is important to maintaining a high-quality, relevant post-secondary education system.

Student Transitions from k-12 to public post-secondary - The Student Transitions Project links data about students in the B.C. public post-secondary education system with information from their years in kindergarten to Grade 12.
