Provincial Nominee Program: Strategic Occupations

Skilled Workers

Applications in the Skilled Worker category are limited to occupations in levels 0, A, and B of the National Occupational Classification Matrix [48kb]. A complete list of eligible occupations in the Skilled Worker category is available here.

These are management, professional, technical, trades and other skilled occupations that generally require post-secondary education or training, and several years of relevant employment experience

Certain occupations also have Canadian or provincial licensing, certification or registration requirements. Applicants must confirm with the applicable regulatory body whether they are eligible to work in a regulated occupation before submitting an application to the BC PNP.

Applicants in the Skilled Worker category who have no formal post-secondary education or training relevant to their occupation must be able to demonstrate to the satisfaction of the PNP that they are fully qualified and have the skills, knowledge and experience to perform the duties of the position they will be filling.

If you are unsure about the eligibility of an occupation for consideration in the Skilled Worker category, you are strongly advised to contact us before submitting an application.

Applicants are reminded that meeting the employment requirements for an eligible occupation is only one of the factors that the PNP considers in assessing an application for nomination. Please refer to the Requirements for Strategic Occupations for information on other key factors that the PNP considers in assessing applications.
