Funding and Analysis Branch

The Funding and Analysis Branch provides operating grants, targets for student full-time equivalents, and capital asset management to British Columbia’s public post-secondary institutions. The branch is split into two units: operating and capital.

Operating unit:

The operating unit is responsible for research and analysis relating to public post-secondary finance, budget and tuition policy issues. The branch develops, disburses and manages operating grants and other related contributions to public post-secondary institutions. It is the primary contact for issues relating to the inclusion of post-secondary institutions in the Government Reporting Entity.

Capital unit:

The capital unit is responsible for identifying the system’s overall capital requirements and managing debt for the sector as a whole. The branch develops and manages the ministry’s capital asset management plan, and analyses and evaluates mid-, short- and long-term capital plans for B.C.'s public post-secondary institutions.
