Education Planner

The Education Planner is a searchable database containing information on more than 1300 undergraduate programs across B.C. It allows you to search by field of study, subject, institution, program length and lets you compare programs against one another.

B.C. Public Post-Secondary Institutions

This page provides links to B.C.’s 25 public post-secondary education institutions. Information about career planning is also available on select sites.

Post-Secondary Application Service of BC (PASBC)

PASBC is Canada's first Internet application-for-admission service. This website provides online application for B.C.'s universities, university colleges, colleges, and institutions. It also includes course listings for select province-wide programs and select institutional courses.

Private Career Training Institutions Agency of British Columbia

The Private Career Training Institutions Agency (PCTIA) has the provincial mandate to provide consumer protection to the students and prospective students of registered private career training institutions. The PCTIA website maintains a searchable database of training programs offered by registered private institutions in B.C.

Industry Training Authority

The Industry Training Authority (ITA) is the provincial government agency with responsibility for apprenticeships and industry training programs in B.C. The ITA website offers information on career choices, including a comprehensive listing of trades and industry occupational profiles.

BCcampus Online

BCcampus Online is an educational service connecting learners and educators to programs and resources across all B.C. institutions. This program and course finder directory includes over 1800 distance education credit courses offered by public post-secondary institutions.

The BC Transfer Guide

The BC Transfer Guide outlines the B.C. post-secondary system. This site provides Canada’s largest course-to course transfer database, with information on thousands of courses and their transfer potential.

Public Colleges, University Colleges and Institutes

B.C. College & Institute Student Outcomes Reports

This site provides information on education and labour market outcomes for B.C. university graduates and B.C. college, university-college and institute graduates 9 to 20 months after graduation.

Job Destinations of former College and Institute Students

This biannual report provides career counselors and future students information about what types of jobs students obtain after leaving their programs. Average growth rates and projected job openings for each occupation are included.

Adult Basic Education Survey: Report of Findings

Adult Basic Education (ABE) includes a range of courses in fundamental academic skills, academic upgrading, and life skills or career preparation. The 2005 ABE survey provides information about students who take ABE courses .

2005 Apprenticeship Survey

This pilot survey provides feedback from former apprenticeship students who completed their apprenticeship technical training at a B.C. post-secondary institution between July 2003 and June 2004. Former apprentices’ in-school experiences, workplace experiences and current employment are reviewed.

Public Universities

University Baccalaureate Graduates Survey

The University Baccalaureate Graduates Survey gathers information on baccalaureate graduates' education satisfaction levels, education financing and student debt, as well as further education and employment outcomes.

Statistics Canada: National Graduate Surveys

The National Graduate Surveys examine the extent to which 1982, 1986, 1990 and 1996 post-secondary graduates were successful in obtaining employment following graduation. Information presented includes the relationship between study programs and employment obtained, job and career satisfaction, unemployment rates, and employment obtained compared to career expectations.
