Aboriginal Education - The Government of British Columbia is committed to closing the higher learning education gap so that Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people can participate equally in the social and economic fabric of the province. Included are contacts at post-secondary institutions and in the ministry, who specialize in helping Aboriginal students start, stay in and complete their education.

Information for StudentsAdult Education - The ministry offers adult education programs through B.C. public post-secondary institutions to meet the needs of adults who are not ready to enter directly into an academic or career program at the post-secondary level. These programs offer English as a second language, adult special education, adult basic education and workplace essential skills.

Adult Literacy - The provincial government funds community organizations that help adults improve their literacy and numeracy skills. Find links to information for literacy practitioners on adult literacy programs and resources in British Columbia, as well as grant applications for the Community Adult Literacy Program.

Degree Granting in B.C. - Degree granting information provides the review criteria for new degree programs proposed by B.C.’s public post-secondary institutions. Information is also available on the Degree Quality Assessment Board and the process for private or out-of-province public institutions to apply for consent to provide degree programs or use the word “university” in B.C.

Industry Training -  Industry training provides comprehensive information on trades training in B.C., beginning with general information on industry training, with links to specific sections of the Industry Training Authority’s website.

International Education - B.C. welcomes international students and the important opportunity for new learning and sharing experiences that they bring to our province. Information is provided for international students wanting to study in British Columbia and domestic students wanting to study abroad.

Information for StudentsLabour Market Information - Labour market information contains a wide range of online career and labour market resources to help you make education, training and employment decisions.

Medical Training Expansion - Medical training expansion provides an overview of the collaboration between three B.C. universities that has increased the number of medical training spaces.

Oil and Gas Training and Education - Oil and gas training and education provides an overview of B.C.'s strategy for oil and gas education and training programs, the Oil and Gas Training and Education Consortium and related press releases.

Post-secondary Institutions Overview - The overview provides a listing of website links for all the public post-secondary institutions in British Columbia.

Prior Learning Assessment - This assessment allows students to earn credit toward a course or program offered by a post-secondary institution if they can show, through an assessment process, that the learning is equivalent to that normally acquired through conventional study at the post-secondary level.

Private Post-secondary Education - Private post-secondary education opportunities are widely available in British Columbia. This information demonstrates the way private post-secondary institutions are regulated in B.C. and provides information for students interested in attending a private institution.

SkillsPlus - SkillsPlus is a new government initiative to enable British Columbians to gain essential skills demanded by today’s workplace.

StudentAid BC - StudentAid BC assists eligible students with the cost of their post-secondary education through loans, grants, bursaries, scholarships and special programs. It also offers programs for borrowers who need help repaying their loans.

Information for StudentsStudent Transitions Project - This is a  collaborative project between the Ministry of Advanced Education and Labour Market Development, the Ministry of Education and British Columbia's public post-secondary education institutions. Student data is linked to analyse student transitions and outcomes from the kindergarten-to-Grade 12 system, to and within the public post-secondary education system.

Student Outcomes Surveys - This annual survey collects information from former students 9 to 20 months after they complete all, or a significant portion, of their post-secondary programs. The survey asks former students what they have done since leaving and if they were satisfied with the education they received. Their feedback is important to maintaining a high-quality, relevant education system in British Columbia.

Tourism and Hospitality - This contains information on the Tourism and Hospitality Education and Training strategy, consortium, and programs in British Columbia.

Tuition Fees - This section provides information on government's policy to limit fee increases to the rate of inflation to ensure higher education is affordable for both students and taxpayers.
