The following Acts provide the legislative authority for British Columbia public institutions to offer degree programs. Sections relevant to degree granting are identified for each Act.

NOTE: The Institute of Technology Act was repealed in June 2004. The British Columbia Institute of Technology is now included under the College and Institute Act
The degree quality assessment process will be subject to the freedom and information and protection of privacy provisions.
