On June 1, 2005, minister’s consent was granted to Lansbridge University for a period of five years to use the word “university,” and to offer two degree programs: a bachelor of business administration and a master's of business administration.
On October 30, 2006, the minister, exercising authority under section 6 of the Degree Authorization Act, appointed an inspector to conduct an inspection of LUC Education (B.C.) Inc. (“Lansbridge University”) for the purposes of determining:
- whether it was appropriate to suspend or revoke or change the terms and conditions attached to the consents given to Lansbridge University on June 1, 2005; and,
- whether Lansbridge University failed to comply with the DAA, the regulations to that Act, or with the terms and conditions attached to the consents.

On February 8, 2007, the Minister of Advanced Education amended the terms and conditions of consent for Lansbridge University under the DAA as follows:

- Lansbridge University would not enrol any new students in the interim period;
- Lansbridge University would immediately provide in writing notification to students of the closure date, and would immediately post this information in a prominent location on its website;
- Lansbridge University would immediately refund tuition paid by students for financial obligations exceeding May 1, 2007;
- Lansbridge University would work with students to facilitate transfer arrangements to other post-secondary institutions for those students who would not have completed their program by May 1, 2007; and,
- Lansbridge University was to provide a report on the progress of compliance with the additional terms by February 14, 2007 and failure to do so could result in further amendments to the terms and conditions attached to the consents.
