Post-secondary Central Data Warehouse
Overview
The Post-secondary Central Data Warehouse contains standardized data relating to student demographics, programs, credentials, courses, session registration and campuses for 21 public post-secondary institutions in B.C., including colleges, institutes and teaching-intensive universities. The data are updated in May and October.
Student names are not contained in the data warehouse, and student-level data is encrypted so that individual students cannot be identified. Data in the warehouse may not be used to make decisions about an individual.
Through an agreement with Statistics Canada, the ministry provides data on behalf of contributing institutions to the Post-Secondary Student Information System, centralizing the submission process and saving the system significant resources. Some data elements are collected in the Central Data Warehouse specifically to satisfy this agreement. Data is submitted to the Post-Secondary Student Information System annually following the completion of the October data warehouse submission cycle.
