Communication Skills for Students who are Non-Verbal

  • A course for adults with multiple disabilities who communicate in ways other than speech.

Creative Conversation Skills for Students with Disabilities

  • A basic course in reading, listening, and speaking effectively at home, in the community, and at work.

Literacy for Students with Disabilities

  • Improve your ability to read, write, and communicate effectively at home, in the community, and at work.

Budgeting Strategies for Students with Disabilities

  • This course will cover the basics of money handling, from working on coin recognition to budgeting money.

Introduction to Computers for Students With Disabilities

  • This course will cover the basics of word processing, Internet access, and E-mail practice. It offers an opportunity for the beginner to explore the world of computers in a comfortable, non-threatening environment.

Workplace Task (Training in Attitude, Skills and Knowledge for the Workplace)

A full time program for students with disabilities offered at Heritage Park Centre ( Mission). Students are instructed in basic employability skills, workplace literacy and basic computer skills. A four week work experience practicum is followed by a job search module in the winter semester. Workshops included in the program are WHMIS, Infectious Diseases, Food Safe, Super Host, First Aid and Employment Standards.
