Receiving Support and Services
The Disability Service Coordinator is your central point of reference for disability services at Emily Carr Institute. The office is located in Student Services.
If you have a disability, you are invited to meet with the Disability Service Coordinator. Reasons why you might meet with the Disability Service Coordinator include:
- Learning about the services available
- Discussing any personal or academic matters related to your disability
- Discussing disclosure of a disability
- Organizing accommodations
- Locating note takers, tutors, scribes, or readers
In order to receive support and services, verification of disability is required.
Policy
The policy regarding students with disabilities at Emily Carr is one of self-advocacy. The Institute recognizes that some students have disabilities and that accommodations must be made to meet the needs of these students.
How to Access Student Services
- Self-identify on the application form.
- Contact the Disability Service Coordinator for an appointment.
- Provide documentation of disability.
- Request service as far in advance as possible.
