Adult Basic Education

Adult basic education programs in the British Columbia /
Yukon post-secondary system
Adult Basic Education (ABE) in the public post-secondary institutions is articulated across the system for ease of transfer. The Articulation Handbook [5.97mb] gives the overall ABE Program Framework, the various subject transfer guides, course outlines, and the various articulation working committees, as well as other useful information. However, students or potential students should contact the individual institution they are interested in to obtain more specific information about the program and course offerings in adult basic education.
ABE is a generic term and institutions choose to call it by many different names - some of these names include: college preparation, career preparation programs, developmental programs, access and career programs, and so on. Articulated courses, however, fall within the overall provincial ABE Framework.
